FAQ's
What is the investment needed by the community to start a safety program?
In most instances there is no front end cost to the community to establish a road safety program. Sensys Gatso will be responsible for the initial investments including; site analysis, permitting, construction, equipment and commissioning. There are exceptions to this model, communities can elect to purchase the equipment and / or pay for the construction. We offer several solutions that will align with your state legislation.
How long will it take for a safety program to be established?
Sensys Gatso will work with your community on an implementation plan. Factors that will affect the startup include public campaign, passage of ordinances, establishment of business rules and permitting. In general, once all of these items have been completed, equipment installation takes approximately 30 days.
Are there commitments from community representatives after the program is established?
Yes, time is the primary commitment from the community. Areas where the community’s time is invested include the approval of violations after Sensys Gatso has completed an initial review and the administrative hearing process. Both of these functions are supported by Sensys Gatso’s proprietary software Xilium.
Who is responsible for taking payments from violators?
The standard offering from Sensys Gatso would have our team handling the payment process via our bilingual call center that has the ability for pay-by-phone, through our secure website, or mailed payments to our Operations Support. There are exceptions which include payments made through the court / administrative process or should a community elect to take payments directly from violators.
What enforcement types are available to my community?
Following the guidelines established by the local legal process, Sensys Gatso can help with red light enforcement, school bus stop arm enforcement, and speed enforcement including school zone and work zone. Our Business Development Team can provide information on the types of safety programs your community is able to establish.
Are there different types of enforcement equipment for the varying safety programs?
Yes, Sensys Gatso provides many technology platforms so the design of your solution can be customized. Examples of our technology would include; fixed (roadside) systems with a variety of camera resolutions, mobile (in-vehicle) systems, handheld devices, and relocatable solar powered trailers.
Can the enforcement equipment be integrated into existing ALPR platforms?
Yes, we can integrate with all major ALRP providers including Flock.
Does the photo enforcement equipment allow for streaming and recorded video?
Yes, our systems provide streaming video and have the ability to record video for 45 days. The recorded video can be retrieved by the community through our proprietary software (Xilium).
